To help the 2026 freshmen take a solid first step in their ideological development at university, deepen their understanding of the Party, correct their motivation for joining the Party, and clarify their direction of growth, Northeast Forestry University's Hainan International College conducted the Party membership enlightenment education for its 2026 freshmen on 16 September. Mr. Wei LUO, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch directly under the College and Vice Dean of the College, delivered the lecture, and Ms. Xiaohong WU moderated the event.
At the outset of the event, Mr.Wei LUO began with the question of "why young people in Sino-foreign cooperative education have all the more need of faith as their compass," and engaged in an interactive exchange with the students, guiding them to reflect on how young students should firm up their ideals and convictions and keep firmly to the right direction in life within an open and diverse learning environment.
He then introduced the nature, purposes, and course of struggle of the Communist Party of China, leading the students to review the Party's glorious history and to study in depth the great founding spirit of the Party, and guiding them to perceive the power of ideals and convictions in the Party's history of struggle, thereby further deepening their understanding of the nature, purposes, original aspiration, and mission of the Communist Party of China.
Mr. Wei LUO then held an in-depth exchange with the students on "why one joins the Party," guiding them to give earnest thought to their original aspiration for joining the Party, to correct their motivation for joining, to discern possible misconceptions that may arise in the process of applying for Party membership, and to develop a correct understanding of the responsibilities and commitments that Party membership entails. He encouraged the students to integrate their personal ideals into national development and social needs, to merge the individual self into the greater whole, and to define their direction in life in the course of pursuing progress.
Turning to how to actively draw closer to the Party organization during their university years, Mr. Wei LUO encouraged the students to learn proactively from Party member role models around them, to hold themselves to higher standards, to be diligent and enterprising in their studies, to take the initiative in collective endeavors, and to be strict with themselves in daily life. He pointed out that drawing closer to the Party organization does not begin only after submitting an application for Party membership; rather, it should be put into practice in everyday study and life. He expressed the hope that the students would keep to their fundamental role as students, start from the present moment and from themselves, and demonstrate their pursuit of progress through concrete actions.
Subsequently, the College provided guidance on joining the Party and the Youth League respectively. Ms. Xiaohong WU, addressing League members, gave a detailed explanation of the writing of applications for Party membership in terms of basic format, principal content, and writing requirements; Mr. Feng GUAN, addressing non-Party and non-League students, provided guidance on the writing of applications for League membership and the relevant requirements for joining the League, helping the students to gain a better understanding of the relevant procedures and norms.
This Party membership enlightenment education constitutes an important part of the orientation education for new students at Hainan International College and serves as an important lesson in guiding the 2026 freshmen to correct their motivation for joining the Party and clarify their direction of growth. In the future, the College will continue to strengthen ideological and political guidance, carry education on ideals and convictions through the entire process of students' growth, and guide students to cultivate a profound sense of home and country, hone solid capabilities, closely integrate personal growth with the development of the times, and write their answers of youth through concrete actions.
