To thoroughly implement the Measures for the Comprehensive Evaluation of Teachers’ Classroom Teaching Quality of Northeast Forestry University (Revised in 2021) and fulfill the university’s work arrangements for the comprehensive evaluation of teachers’ classroom teaching quality in the first semester of the 2026–2027 academic year, and to further consolidate the teaching quality of Sino-foreign cooperative programs, members of the leadership team and teaching management staff of Hainan International College entered professional classrooms on September 15, the first day of the new semester, to carry out collective classroom observation and evaluation activities.
On the same day, Rui MA, Secretary of the Directly Affiliated Party Branch of the College, and Wei LUO, Deputy Secretary and Vice President of the College, led the teaching management team to attend classes for the Computer Science and Technology program and observed the course Academic English and Communication delivered by foreign teacher Thomas. Centering on the cultivation of students’ academic English listening and speaking competence, the course integrates critical thinking training throughout the entire teaching process.
Focusing on the theme of “Critical Thinking and Confident Expression”, Teacher Thomas adopted diversified teaching methods including heuristic questioning, listening discrimination exercises, group discussions and mind mapping to encourage students to think actively and express themselves bravely, creating a dynamic and interactive classroom atmosphere.
College leaders carefully observed the overall teaching arrangement and teacher-student interaction. In accordance with the Classroom Teaching Evaluation Form of Hainan International College, Northeast Forestry University, they conducted objective evaluations from multiple dimensions, including teacher ethics and conduct, teaching design, teaching content, teaching methods, teaching tools, teaching skills and teaching effectiveness. Meanwhile, the attendance and classroom discipline of students were inspected synchronously to fully grasp the on-site teaching operation status.
After class, college leaders held in-depth exchanges with the instructor. They fully affirmed the highlights and distinctive features of the classroom teaching, acknowledging that the course boasted clear logical design and sufficient interactive sessions, which effectively mobilized students’ enthusiasm for participation. Meanwhile, constructive suggestions were put forward concerning classroom rhythm control and stratified teaching guidance, so as to facilitate continuous improvement and professional advancement of the teacher’s teaching practice.
Classroom teaching serves as the primary venue for talent cultivation, and teaching quality constitutes the lifeline of Sino-foreign cooperative education. In accordance with the university’s unified arrangements, the College has steadily advanced the comprehensive evaluation of classroom teaching quality for this semester. Adhering to the interactive working mechanism of evaluation and feedback, improvement and upgrading, and effective application, the College takes evaluation results as an important reference for teachers to optimize teaching practices, carry out teaching reform research, and strengthen curriculum construction.
Based on the actual conditions of Sino-foreign cooperative programs, the College strictly implements the talent cultivation schemes and syllabi jointly formulated by Chinese and foreign parties. In line with Chinese and foreign higher education quality control standards, it realizes full coverage of classroom observation and evaluation for all Chinese and foreign courses. Members of the College leadership and teaching management staff conduct regular in-class teaching inspections. By promoting teaching optimization, student learning and educational reform through evaluation, the College rigorously safeguards the overall quality of classroom teaching.
