Recently, in accordance with the overall arrangements of the University for advancing the development and construction of Hainan International College, a delegation led by Gao Yujuan, Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Director of the Organization Department, including Yu Yang, Director of the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee, Guo Yongchang, Director of the Development Planning Office, Zhuang Wenpei, Secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee, and Liu Li, Deputy Director of the Human Resources Office, conducted a special research visit to Hainan International College at Donglin. The delegation conducted on-site inspections of school-running conditions, and carried out in-depth research and guidance on Party building leadership, student affairs, development planning, faculty development, and Communist Youth League work.
During the visit, the research delegation held a symposium with responsible officials from the Party-mass Work Department (Organization and Personnel Department) and the Education Service Department (Student Affairs Department) of Lingshui Li’an International Education Innovation Pilot Zone, as well as relevant persons in charge of Hainan International College of Communication University of China and Queen Mary Hainan College of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. The participants conducted in-depth discussions on key issues including Party building leadership for universities settled in the pilot zone, student education, management and services, faculty team development, and the mechanism of university-local collaborative development. In addition, the delegation paid an on-site visit to key public teaching and living support facilities in the pilot zone, covering the library, comprehensive gymnasium, student dormitories and faculty apartments, so as to gain an in-depth understanding of the overall planning and layout, teaching and research supporting conditions, as well as the study and living environment for teachers and students in the pilot zone.
Leaders of the College accompanied the research visit and delivered a detailed briefing on the progress of the College’s Party building work, faculty team development, collaborative mechanisms for student affairs, and institutional development plans. The research delegation fully acknowledged the phased achievements made by Hainan International College in exploring new paths for internationalized education by leveraging the platform of the pilot zone. Meanwhile, the delegation put forward guiding suggestions on further strengthening organizational development, optimizing the talent introduction and cultivation mechanism, improving the student service and guarantee system, and promoting the coordinated utilization of multi-party resources.
This research activity fully demonstrates the University’s high attention to and strong support for the construction and development of Hainan International College, and has further strengthened communication and ties between the University’s functional departments and the College. The College will earnestly implement the guiding opinions of the research team, pool efforts to overcome difficulties, accelerate the high-quality development of all undertakings, and make greater contributions to the University’s Double First-Class Initiative and the opening-up of education.
