On the morning of June 17, Professor Daniel Reidenbach, Dean of the School of Computer Science and Mathematics at Birkbeck, University of London (BBK), led a delegation to visit and conduct research at Aulin College. Representatives from Hainan International College, Aulin College, College of Science, and the International Cooperation Office of the University held a symposium with the visiting delegation in Conference Room 609, Aulin Building.
During the meeting, Dean Liu Zhiming first introduced the background of the cooperative education program in Information and Computational Science, the current progress of program application, and pending issues requiring bilateral communication and resolution. Professor Daniel Reidenbach presented the development history, program settings and student cultivation mechanisms of the School of Computer Science and Mathematics at Birkbeck, University of London, and further elaborated on the specialized fields of the proposed Sino-foreign cooperative education program.
Both sides conducted in-depth discussions on the scope of cooperative education, major docking arrangements and student training models for future cooperation.
Professor An Yong, Dean of the College of Science, exchanged views with Professor Daniel Reidenbach on key matters concerning curriculum alignment, graduation design (thesis) requirements, and future faculty exchange programs for the proposed cooperative major, reaching consistent consensus on relevant issues.
At the end of the meeting, Dean Liu Zhiming summarized the outcomes of the promotion meeting. He stated that the university would actively advance curriculum docking and multi-party coordination to facilitate the launch of the cooperative education program in relevant majors and the construction of the overseas study center at an early date. Professor Daniel Reidenbach remarked that his school would develop tailored courses and training models suitable for students of Northeast Forestry University, so as to lay a solid foundation for the bilateral Sino-foreign cooperative education program.
