On the afternoon of February 4th, Professor Guangyu Wang, dean of the Faculty of Forestry at the University of British Columbia (UBC), visited our Hainan International College to conduct research on the operation of the experimental zone, the situation of Hainan International College, and the negotiation of Sino-foreign cooperative education programs. Li Jingcai, secretary of the Party branch of Hainan International College, Associate Professor Hutong Xin, assistant to the dean of the College of Forestry, and relevant personnel from the Administration of Lingshui Li 'an International Education Innovation Pilot Zone (hereinafter referred to as the Pilot Zone) accompanied the visit.

Guangyu Wang visited the library of the experimental zone, the public teaching building, the public laboratory building and the office of Hainan International University in sequence, and gained an in-depth understanding of the planning and layout, development and construction, and the introduction and operation of schools in the experimental zone. During the visit, Professor Wang gave high praise to the overall planning of the experimental zone, the teaching facilities and the work carried out by our university in international education.
During the discussion session, Li Jingcai gave a warm welcome to Professor Wang's visit and introduced the innovative educational model of "big sharing + small college" and the educational reform concept of "five Mutuals and One Common" in the experimental zone, as well as the establishment process, functional positioning and current development status of Hainan International College. He said that the university attaches great importance to the development of Hainan International College and will strive to make it a new growth point for Sino-foreign cooperative education, a new focus for international joint research, a new convergence point for educational opening up and a new support point for expanding international vision. He believes that through Professor Wang's visit this time, we will surely gain a deeper understanding of the high-quality development ofNortheast Forestry Universityand have a positive impact on future cooperation between the two schools.
Professor Wang expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and introduced the cooperation between the University of British Columbia in Canada and Northeast Forestry University since the 1980s. UBC and Northeast Forestry University are located at the same latitude and have many similarities in terms of forest resource distribution, discipline and major Settings, and scientific research layout. The cooperation is extensive and promising, he said. He said that the establishment of Hainan International College is an important measure forNortheast Forestry Universityto focus on high-quality development and promote comprehensive educational reform. It has excellent geographical advantages and talent policies, as well as rich forestry and Marine resources. In the future, we should make full use of the characteristic advantages of Hainan International College and conduct in-depth research on future cooperation directions. We will strive to achieve the goal of "rooting inNortheast Forestry University, taking root in Hainan, and radiating to Southeast Asia".
Hutong Xin, assistant dean of the College of Forestry, introduced the development of relevant disciplines and research in the college. Yan Lin, a staff member of the Education and Teaching Service Department of the Experimental Zone Administration and a temporary cadre of our university's Olin College, introduced the current situation of Sino-foreign cooperative education in our university. Through Professor Wang's visit, the two sides have gained a better understanding of each other and laid the foundation for the next step of cooperation.
