On the morning of November 13, 2025, Zhang Li, Executive Dean, and Zhang Jianhua, Deputy Party Secretary of the Otago Smart Health College, Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, led a delegation to visit Hainan International College of Northeast Forestry University. The two sides held a symposium at the Lingshui Li’an International Education Innovation Pilot Zone to conduct in-depth exchanges on issues concerning Sino-foreign cooperative education.
At the symposium, Liu Zhiming, Dean of Hainan International College, extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation. He first gave an overview of the college’s development, and conducted in-depth discussions with the delegates on the college’s educational positioning, off-campus school operation mechanisms and daily management practices, sharing practical and referential experience accumulated in school running. Dean Liu expressed the college’s willingness to cooperate with all parties to share high-quality resources and pursue collaborative development.
Zhang Li, Executive Dean of the Otago Smart Health College, introduced her college’s practices and explorations in Sino-foreign cooperative education. She expressed sincere gratitude to Hainan International College for the warm reception and valuable experience sharing, noting that this visit provided useful references for further advancing cooperative education work at Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine.
During the symposium, both sides put forward tentative cooperation plans concerning joint curriculum development and faculty training. The whole discussion proceeded in a candid and in-depth atmosphere. Both parties agreed that strengthened inter-university communication and mutual learning will help improve the overall quality of Sino-foreign cooperative education and contribute to the advancement of international education development.
During the field visit, the delegation inspected supporting facilities of the pilot zone, including the library, classrooms, laboratories and the land parcel for the exclusive building of Northeast Forestry University, to gain first-hand experience of the college’s educational environment. In-depth exchanges on facility planning and space utilization were conducted throughout the visit. Both sides reached a consensus on the development paths, operational mechanisms and innovative models for conducting off-campus Sino-foreign cooperative education.
